I just scored a really good deal on a demo 22" smokey mountain, but there is a decent dent in the lid that looks like it was made with a baseball.
Anyone have good ideas on how to remove it? Maybe with a suction cup like you would a car?
Can you provide a picture?
I've had some pretty good results with pressing it out from the inside with... well anything really. Laid a cloth inside and just kept pressing against it with a ballpeen hammer's head, piece of wood, whatever. The other hand flat pressed on the dent on the outside so you can support the lid and also feel how it's coming along. In my cases the enamel wasn't cracked and fixing it didn't crack it either. Good luck!

I stress; pressing, not hammering!

If you heat the dent it makes the metal more "flexible" .Then do as Tommie said. You may have to heat the metal a few times and go slowly. Just my thoughts. Good luck

A little trick restoring old cars
I will have to give it a try tomorrow. I was worried about possibly cracking some of the coatings.
Thanks.
I reckon you should be ok. assuming the Pic makes it look worse than it is?
I've managed to do it without cracking but I can't promise anything! If it were me I'd have to give it a go though...

I've used a rubber hammer with success, but always have porcelain loss on the outside. If all the porcelain is intact I'd leave it as is.
Good luck!

Yup, this is also my thinking.
Has character and does not affect the cooking aspect.
Just press lads, no hammering
