Title: Cutting cast iron grate
Post by: Cabernet on October 22, 2025, 06:54:00 AM
Hi All
I am cutting a cast iron grill grate, my question is for those that have done it before, have you had any corrosion issues along the cut line? Is there something I should treat it with before I start to use it?
Thanks in advance

Should be fine if it's bare cast iron just season it after with some oil and get cooking. If it's porcelain coated like the Weber GBS one I have then that would obviously suffer after a while, mine blistered the first time I used it just searing steaks! I've since gone for a cheap bare cast iron one
