What started as lunch for a couple of us to exchange a few things turned into a real nice afternoon at the Lombard Weber Grill for five. More pics to come, but here's a tease:

And the display grills did not disappoint:

We were able to spend time with the Executive Chef (Jason) who took us out back for a look at the mobile ranch wagon. (that's it in the first pic) Three very old ranch kettles, they use for catered events etc. He mentioned they intend to replace the whole works with new stuff this year. Guess who asked what they plan to do with the old ones? ;D
Good food, good beer, and good company. (One of the kettles exchanged was NOT good however - another tease)
Awesome,
Marty and the boys, hanging out with some Webers again
Sign me up for, 1, very used ranch kettle.....lol........or the whole cart is fine

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....OMG!
Ken
Very cool! That Westerner almost looks more like a Chestnut Copperton... :)
Cant wait to see more!
Very cool indeed. And Craig, I had the same exact thought!
I'm diggin' that crazed 22. 8)
Nice! Wish I had not been out of town.
What's the story with that trailer?
Man, I missed out. I guess I better get something worth trading with you all! I have never been to that Weber Grill location but after seeing those pics, I will have to make the trip sometime!
No steer head on what they called the Westerner, so we're pretty sure it was not the Westerner we all know of. Interesting wheels on the crazed-finshed kettle huh? The catering cart has seen better days, and I'm anxious to see what is replacing it. Jason was saying it will house complete Ranch kettles that they can take off the cart and move around. That yellow in the picture was touched up on the bottom. The color is not a perfect match. The one they call the Custom is likely a "Traveler" we think. (I believe that's what someone there said - right?)
I even asked the manager if we could get a closer look at those kettles in the bar because they were high on a shelf, but no dice this time. (No patch for you!) Jason was real friendly, so I gave him a patch and made him an honorary member. He said he'd check us out on line sometime.
Right marty. I knew what they called the custom was Not the custom. The crazed one is a custom (right?) I had not noticed it had no wheels, and yes, i think you are correct that the it is called the traveller.
I know who everyone is except the guy in the Nike shirt, who is that?
Excellent pictures and it obviously was a great time! Those kettles could use a little TLC from the WKC. How cool would it be to have that trailer for comps? Man do I want an old ranch! :o
Nike shirt...Terry....AKA Landgraft......
