Title: Weber Fireplace interest?
Post by: putoluto on November 24, 2024, 12:11:35 PM
I got an old school Weber wood burning fireplace. I tried it out once and didn't care for it.  It's been in the basement the last 5-10 years. Taking up space, so considering selling. Due to age, not sure there is any interest. Thinking I might throw it up on FB Marketplace to see. Knoxville, TN area. Prefer pick up as this thing is sizable and would be a bea$t to ship.  Hit me up if you think I should sell it.

Why didn't you care for it, you have a great spot for it? I have one that's rarely used but would never sell it. They're great to sit around because the lid makes the heat fan out and not go straight up. Wish I was closer I'd buy it, if you really wanted to sell it.

I have wanted one for a long time. Don't know that I would use it that much but they are really neat. I would gladly buy it but too far away from me here in Iowa.

I didn't care for it because we moved from the South Orange County home (in the photographs) to a home in Tennessee that has a sloped lot and not a lot of place to use it.  It's a great item. It needs some rubber washer gaskets (for between the bolt and the body) because the old ones aged and cracked in half. They are common and easy to pick up at a hardware store. I did replace the bolts and nuts with stainless steel ones to keep them from rusting, but since it didn't spend much time outdoors, that was unnecessary.  The wood grate is rusted, but they are cheaply and easily replaceable at any hardware store or through weber dot com. It was only used the one time that you see in the photo.  Sorry you guys are so far away, I would prefer to sell it to a WKC member, but will throw it up on FB if it doesn't move in a timely manner.  It's a wonderful piece of goods, but it has just been taking up space the last 5 years in storage. It's pretty clear I won't be using it soon, so thought someone else might enjoy it more.

Yeah, I'd love it, too.  But it's too long a drive from Fla.

Good luck, it surely needs to find a good home ! ! !

See it now on FB.... My brother lives in Vonore, wish he would bite, but he's got a rock pit by the lake where he builds his fires.  Good luck with sale, I've got one of these in storage like new and one in the yard.  Never used either.

Too bad, Vonore is VERY close to me. I was working at the DHL warehouse there a little while back.
