Title: lid reshaped
Post by: mtgb on July 01, 2024, 08:32:29 AM
Anyone have a good way to reshape the lid? this is for a 1986 22" kettle. What about adding a gasket seal or something similar around the rim? I would like to be able to use it for low and slow cooks.

If it's out of round, give it a little hug.  Rinse and repeat until you're happy with the results after test fitting.

+1 on the hugging of a lid.   Definitely helps.   Office binder clips work wonders for low and slow cooks.  Two on opposite sides as circled below.   It will also help shut down/ extinguish coals easier.

On gasket I have used Lavalock both high heat silicon pack or just the lavalock self adhesive. Very easy
