Title: Gen 1 Performer Axle Nut Question
Post by: cubalz on April 30, 2024, 08:08:16 AM
Does anyone know what part # the axle nuts and axle are for the Gen 1 Performer? I noticed a couple differing number listed on-line.

Thanks!
John

The axle nuts should be available at your local HD/Lowe's, it's just a cap nut that you gently hammer on.  The actual Weber part number I'm finding is 987101.  As far as the axle, if you're looking to replace it I recommend measuring it and ordering a SS rod from Amazon.  Will last much longer, won't rust and will stay looking good for a long time.  You may have to cut it to length with a grinder wheel - takes about 20 seconds, but wear eye protection.  Personally I prefer using SS shaft collars in place of the hammer on caps, but of course they don't look original.  Good luck!

Troy, I think you have at least two of everything!!!  Thanks for always sharing/providing to the local area as options!

Thanks for the offer Troy. After fighting the refurb on this grill, I really need a good rust free donor frame....
