This was too good to pass up. $50 1978 dark blue. It has some rim rash and a few bits of missing porcelain on the lid. The bowl is very nice and has no grate pops. The lid handle is solid and will refinish well. It did require a trip up the CA coast to secure, but it was one of the most beautiful kettle road trips I've ever done. Since I'm going to drive home to Indiana when this assignment is done, I figured this grill needed to become a Hoosier.
The very nice seller was an antique collector and was downsizing his kettle collection. He even gifted me the 70th anniversary sign and bottle opener, which was so generous. We talked antiques, baseball and kettle collecting for nearly two hours.

Congratulations! If you change your mind on bringing it back to Indiana I think it would look great in Kansas...just sayin!

You are going to have a good load of finds to fill the car for the trip back home. Keep up the hunt. If you are growing tired of the rattling on the way home you can leave some here in Iowa.
