Title: First cook on the Ranch
Post by: MoparProud on September 15, 2023, 09:30:22 PM
Finally fired her up for first cook. Pork butt and brisket on now, likely toss on some chicken tomorrow and maybe some sausage. With Mac n cheese as well. I'm settled in for an all nighter.

So far she was cake to dial in. Minimal adjustments on top vent but she's just rolling right alone.

Looks great!   The ranch is favorite cooker for low and slow bbq.

Real happy with the cook, although the corn didn't turn out as I wanted. The Ranch....oh boy that may become the go to. It settled right in from the get go, merely had to tweak the upper vent a bit throughout the night. Real easy, I was concerned it may be a bit of a bear to dial in but not so.

They certainly aren't common around here. I'd never seen a Ranch in person until this one. It was a real treat to cook on

The ranch swallowed up both butt and brisket together! The seem so small in that monster!  Thanks for sharing, @Mopar!

Thanks fellas. Yep, she's sitting patiently waiting for the next cook. Not sure what but maybe several racks of ribs.

I had initially planned on having the Ranch for the boys high school graduation, and it would have been perfect since I did 8 racks for it. Just timing didn't work out for me. But hey, still have 5 kids in school so plenty of opportunities 🤣
