Title: ThermoWorks Smoke Sale
Post by: jcnaz on May 20, 2022, 02:53:33 PM
The good folks at ThermoWorks have the original Smoke marked down from $99 to $69 for "a limited time".
I have been talking myself out of buying a remote temperature alarm for years, but this cheapskate had to pull the trigger at that price!
They also have classic Thermopens
For $62.25 (25% off).

You won't regret that purchase.

New guy here. Need some quick advice. To effectively use this, I would need a side kick / side table on the grill, correct?

Doesn't have to be a side kick table.  A folding chair, ice chest or even place your kettle near a retaining wall to set the Smoke transmitter on.  The probe cables are fairly long, just not long enough to reach the ground. Until I found an old Woodard wrought iron cart I used an old folding wooden table I found at a garage sale.

I use a clip on cell phone holder usually unless cooking on the WSM or OTP.  Works well!

That's pretty ingenious. Thanks for sharing? Do you by any chance remember which specific cell phone holder you bought? I see that it has a clamp and extendable arm.

Found it!  Been a while...I must add, sometimes I have to use a spacer to hold something more narrow than the holder.  I've used an eraser or a roll of electrical tape depending on which thermometer I'm using.
