Title: My first kettle/table rescue
Post by: stillgriller on March 14, 2022, 01:16:30 PM
Found this travel pair in good but filthy shape on FB last night. Picked it up today. Definitely used, it looked like they cooked chicken wings about a dozen times without a cleaning ;). Anyways, spent this nice afternoon in the garage/driveway with a beer, music on, cleaning them up 8)

Nice find.
Those tables are hard to come by.

Both have been beat down a bit, so I won't feel bad using the table, it's been around.

I am somewhat of a collector, but I am also a cooker.
I bought one of these tables and kept it in the box for a while,  but it doesn't do much for me to look at it. I enjoy using it for my CGA'S much more than looking at the packaging.

That's why I got this one, it's already got miles on it.

Sorry, years of east coast traffic has left me with an aversion to long car rides. Anything more than a few hours and I'd rather fly.
'Pardon me sir, but your going to need to check that Sequoia, as you have clearly demonstrated, it won't fit in the overhead compartment'  8)

OK -as requested, the first cook on my rehabbed Jumbo, replaced the cooking grate and some other parts ;) , more of those Chicago Steak Co. burgers, cooked over Cowboy Briquets, with mushrooms & onions, Colby Jack and all the fixin's, sans bacon. It did great and easy to clean.

I ran out of bacon... it was a bacon-tastrophy!

Burgers look awesome!  What I love about an 18 inch grill is the ease of cleaning.  I usually take the grate to the kitchen sink and it actually fits.  Got me wanting a burger now..... guess I'll settle for corned beef and cabbage for now.  Weekend is coming though!

We did skip the corned beef this year. No reason, just didn't happen.

I bet the 18" with the one-touch and high capacity ash catcher is awesome. Not a fan of the open ash catcher.
