Title: Kettle Rotisserie
Post by: TXFlyGuy on November 26, 2021, 07:36:03 PM
Looking at a couple after market rotisseries for the kettle. The Weber model has blown well past $200, so looking at a less expensive option.

Onlyfire Stainless, and Shinestar.

Does anyone have experience with these? This will be a gift. I personally own the Weber model, having used it a couple times.

The Weber would be my first choice, but I can buy two for the price of one, at $105 each.

I can't help you with those but I've been running a Cajun Bandit for three or four years. Maybe a little more than you care to spend but it's a great rig.

THIS.
I absolutely love mine.
If it makes a difference he offers 2 versions, one is a/c powered the other by rechargeable batteries.
The actual "ring" is streets above everything else I've looked at.

Looking at one for my 18.5" Jumbo Joe.

The question is, battery or electric? Why?

I bought an Onlyfire rotisserie for my CGA which came with a battery powered motor.  The first motor didn't work, made noise but didn't spin and the battery door tab was broken off.  They sent me another one that did the exact same thing but with a good battery door.  After some back and forth they sent me an electric motor that is totally silent and IT WORKS!  I fixed the first one - gear issue but it's still SO loud.  Others may have differing experiences, but I'd stick with an electric unless your purpose is to take it camping where there is no electricity available.

You may want to use it where there's no electric plug nearby.
I used mine on a patio that had no electric.

Thanks!

Well...dang it! I was in the check out lane, got my 10% holiday discount, but then they slapped a $40 shipping charge on my order.

Canceled that, went to Amazon and ordered an Onlyfire, with electric motor for my Jumbo Joe. $83, with free shipping, and free returns if not satisfied.

I wanted to buy the Cajun Bandit, but it was going to be  $220. For the 18.5" model.
