Title: Fajitas!
Post by: kendoll on July 05, 2013, 11:39:35 PM
Apologies for the quality of the photos, just using the iPad camera and its getting dark early these days.

So I sprinkled the left over standing rib (from a previous cook) with some Tatonka Dust and threw it on the GA indirect. Used a a combination of the drip pan and aluminium foil to help shield the meat. Took about 30min to get it to about 125 IT then chopped it up and the missus finished it off on the stove with onion, plenty of lime juice, and cracked black pepper.

Served with home made pico de gallo, store bought salsa and jalapeƱos. Really like this dish.

Cheers Dave. Not cooking on it yet, not sure if I will yet. Got the grey SJ the other day too so going to clean them both up and then decide.

The fajitas were brilliant. I love the flavour from the beef cooked with the Tatonka and then finished with the lime juice. Also brushed the meat with Wasabi EVOO.

That looks delicious! Nice presentation.  8)

I've been doing the same-old-same-old stuff lately. I need to expand my horizons a little. Thanks for the inspiration.  :D

Wife's birthday yesterday & she wanted to go out & eat.....we did this twice & I'm having some trouble moving around today.......it's really hard to perv on this stuff, but it did remind me of the SECOND place we went to eat.....Benehana's....where they slice & cook up stuff on a flat top right in front of you.....
Quick sear on the steaks & then sliced / chopped into small bite size pieces, just about like what you got going on there !!!!!

Grate Lookin' Cookup !!!!!

Not to change focus here but I'm a big fan of Benihana. The scallops are amazeballs!!! The Teppanyaki (spelling?) grilling station they have set up is awesome. The fried rice is great.

Home made fajitas though? Even better, food looks delicious.
