Title: Should this bother me?
Post by: Babekyu on August 24, 2020, 02:33:59 PM
WSM temperature gauge has condensation in it.  Got the WSM brand new about two months ago. Used it 4 times so far. Its never seen rain and is always in a covered area out of the elements, and protected by the Weber grill cover that it came with.  Unless I'm using it of course.  :)

If you registered it call or email Weber and let them know and they'll send a new one, or ignore it or get a wireless temp probes.

My experience has been that every time I wash and clean a WSM, gas grill or kettle with a temperature gauge, condensation forms on the inside of the gauge.  Once you fire it up, the condensation disappears and does not reform.

It should not bother you.   Cook on.  That thermo is not accurate anyway.

Anybody who had a CD player in their car has seen this happen a few times (condensation on CDs). Not harmful, keep stepping.

If your WSM is registered with Weber.Com that guage is under warranty for two(2) years.
