My name is Jason and I reside in Louisiana. I bought my first kettle about a month ago. It is a 26-incher. I used to cook on propane. The propane grill we had rusted out to the point of needing replacement. So, we bought an 18" Old Smokey to get us grilling again. After cooking on the OS for about 3 months I decided that I wanted something that was larger and built better for everyday use.
I cookout 3-5 times a week. That was when I started researching grills. I had narrowed it down to either a PK or a Weber Kettle. The kettle won out because of its size and the fact that there are many, many accessories for it. I purchased a SnS XL and have been using it for indirect and searing. I have not used it for smoking meats, but that is on my list.

Welcome to the fun! I hear the 26" kettles are nice. Looking forward to seeing a cook or two if you can share.
