After nearly three years, the original prototype is still going strong. I lost count of the cooks using this thing. Countless others out there in WKCville doing the job. Still wish Weber would make one like it. How hard could that be? ABC/SnS - you listening? You already have an 18.5 version I love. Scale it up for cripes sake. Of course, you would have to call it The Original Marty Basket, and send me one to test out, but that's the least you could do.
Anyway, thought some of you out there would like to see it again - a different kind of weathered warrior. I think it's beautiful.

Your basket still looks good Marty.
I have several of them thanks to you.
1 at the camper, 1 at the mother in laws house and 1 at home. Lost track of how many cooks on them also.
However, I just broke down and got the SNS 1.0 since they were on special.

Yep. Mine is still going strong. I made it immediately following your original thread.

Personally I don't care if anyone makes it. Weber baskets are cheap and it takes about 5 minutes to make. It would be cool if Weber made it and called it the Marty basket or bigger better basket.

Mine's parked in the Fleetwood and still going strong! Thanks Marty for inspiring us.

I do all my non-BBQ cooks this way now! Plus the basket allows me to save more unused charcoal than without. Thanks for sharing your idea with others!
@56mpg just picked up some charcoal baskets for 3 bucks a set. Already had some ss hardware. Thanks for the idea, can't wait to try it out!
Just made one for my 22.. love it.
Still a place for two original char baskets, and/or charcoal rails, but this piece is going to be a staple accessory.

I made one, idk if I ever posted it, but I love it. I had a hard time deciding what size to make it, settled on this.

I have been cooking with a SlowNSear Plus in my Weber Performer Deluxe for the last couple of years and to date I remain one-happy-SNS Customer. The Weber Baskets are still new and still sit-in-the-corner until I fire-up my recent purchase of a Cajun Bandit Rotisserie on it's initial run.
Here's my homage to M'sBBB. It's in a 26. I like how there's a gap between it and the porcelain.
