Weber Kettle Club Forums

I think Weber is making a mistake not marketing these in the USA.  I've used mine twice now and the lamb kebabs came out amazing.  The mushrooms, bell peppers and onions were cooked to perfection. Load the skewers onto the spit, start it spinning and 25-30 minutes they're done.  So far, I have only cooked them indirect, with the baskets set to the sides and approximately 7 inches between them.  In the future, I will try cooking them direct and will report back.  Also, the unit is much easier to clean than I expected.  Easily cleaned after use with soap, water and a blue scrub pad.  No SOS pad needed like when cleaning rotisserie forks and spit.  Although I sourced my unit from Austria,  similar less expensive non Weber units can be purchased on Amazon.  The nice thing about the Weber branded one, it comes with 12 skewers.  6 long ones and 6 shorter ones.  This allows the unit to be used both on a 22" and 18" kettle.  The Onlyfire unit sold by Amazon only comes with long skewers so it can only be used on 22" kettles.

Totally agree. Too bad we have to ship it from accros the pond.  Liked it so much that i ended up getting 3 sets, 2 for me and 1 for my brother.
So how much did it end up costing you?  Got mine  from Amazon UK, $75usd including shipping.

Double spin, I like that idea.  Think it was $80 including shipping.

Those are pretty awesome and I don't even have a rotisserie yet.  Priced on ebay at around $113.26 and the seller has it set up for free shipping to the US and Canada.  This would be an awesome item for UK members visiting a Meet Up one day to fill a luggage with. haha.

You can buy it here for a bunch less euro. The price will be quite a bit cheaper as they won't charge a non-euro address vat. Shipping is usually reasonable. I've bought a bunch of things from amazon.de and amazon.co.uk and have shipped to the US no problem for a very reasonable price.

I did check this out and the kebab rotisserie could not be shipped from the DE site.  However, the UK sight allowed it and was reasonable.  They are currently back in stock, but there are like 11 remaining.  Tempted to grab one just in case I can't get one later, but I haven't purchased a rotisserie yet so it seems like a silly purchase for me at the moment.

I'm showing £90 plus £10 to ship. Can buy a grill for that much. Doesn't the onlyfire kebab skewer do the same thing? It's only $50 from Amazon prime

This morning I checked the conversion and it was about $66 USD shipped before any currency conversion fees if the card has them. However that was from Amazon.   Looks like it is 3rd party sellers again. Maybe will keep checking back and nab one when amazon is actually selling them.

Nice.  It actually does work if you go to multiple sellers as you mentioned.  Way to be persistant!  Like here:

I was even able to use my Amazon card and pay in USD rather than worry about any conversion fees.  The total cost was $58.90 USD with shipping.  Total cost in EU is 50,87.

I haven't seen that message about shipping to the us on bbq products before.  Went to check it out and it was as you said.   Decided to look at other sellers and that was when I found this work around.

Shipping is pretty reasonable. It's nice that shipping costs less than VAT and out the door price is less than the posted price. Seems like a great deal.

Now to see if it shows up.

No message on shipping either. I don't even think the preauthoriation has hit the card yet.  Fingers crossed.

Darn it you guys got me to spend money. For $58 I think I'll get a lot of use on this. Can't wait to try it with wings. I don't have a problem cooking wings over direct raised high up in my BGE but I'm always looking for new ways to try things and I think the rotisserie kebab setup is probably going to be perfection.

For the record I've ordered from Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de in the past and never had an issue. Sometimes I have to wait two weeks but it's always arrived.

I have quickly realized that this place is the best group of enablers I have ever seen. As soon as you say in am done buying grills and accessories you get messages, posts, and texts saying BUY IT BUY IT! Lol

Onlyfire has a stainless steel knockoff available on Amazon US for 50USD. Looks similar and comes with 6, 17 inch skewers.

I did receive my shipping notification for the international order.  Supposed to be here September 9th I believe. 

I know I could have gotten a knock off for $10 cheaper, but for a little extra I have the real deal.  In am sure the knock off would have worked fine and if I was in a hurry to get it asap it might have been the route I took.

It looks like the Weber Kebab skewers would be easier to clean any way & made better, not so weenie.

I have the Weber one and like it. I bought in Germany last year. But since then I have seen that Napoleon grills has a similar skewer set for around $20. I assume it would fit on Weber rostisserie:

You can get by without a rotisserie ring. Just need the spit, motor and motor mount.  Several members have modified an older kettle to be a dedicated rotisserie kettle. Here is a good example by WKC member @einrej .

It's a fun simple mod that works very well. I like it better than the ring myself. Many have been made and I have not heard of a complaint.
I only use the heat deflectors when I cook something large like a turkey. You just cant bear a rotisserie.

Looks like Weber finally brought it to the U.S.  It's been redesigned, but I may get it for future use, as I don't have a rotisserie yet.
