Title: What is the plastic bucket for?

Been too long I guess since I had a new kettle.

There was a plastic bucket inside the ash catcher. What in the world is that thing for?

(Yes, I did not leave it in the ash catcher when I put the grill together. I do realize fire + plastic = odd tasting cooks) :P

It's a scoop to use for your charcoal.
