I came across someone selling a Char Q grill in the FB marketplace. I never knew there was such a thing. It is new in the box. How long ago did they quit making this model? I am tempted to buy it just because it's brand new and they don't make them anymore. What info does anyone have on them?

From what I know they only made them for a very short period of time.

Years of production were 2008-2011. The char Q was built on the 200 size frame. I've always thought this model would be fun. I love my 220 and 1000.

Thanks for the info. When I saw the FB listing I thought it was a mistake. Never heard of a Char Q. Maybe one day it will be a collectors item.
Picked it up last night. Older couple selling it had won it in some Weber Sweepstakes back in 2009 and never opened it. She had even bought a small bag of Kingsford and some lighter fluid thinking one day she would try it out. Not sure how great of a find this is but I would guess that an unopened grill that has been out of production for 8 years is not too common.
Did not know about these. Read the article on WKC and that is a very cool find. I have an older Q100 that get used in the winter if I am to lazy. Please post some cooking pictures if you do fire it up.
