New to me H code 26. She's a beast! Waiting for a charcoal grate, cannot wait to cook on her. @Fat Tony where are you getting a charcoal grate for this? Is the charcoal grate on these 80s 26ers the same as those from the 60s and 70s? I have one charcoal grate that's on its last legs...beautiful 26er, love the handles, and you will absolutely love the 26er! Congrats!

Thanks! I ordered both grates from Weber. Cooking grate arrived the day after I ordered. Charcoal grate coming this week. They are "vintage" size grates, 24.75" for the cook grate and 19.5" I think for the charcoal. These are smaller than the new ones. I already have a 2015 26 and love cooking on her, however, her days may be numbered here.

@Fat Tony - Could you post the part #'s for both the cooking and charcoal grates you ordered and received please? For years it has been circulated here on the Forum that Weber no longer carried the grates for vintage 26ers.

I'd love to have a birth year ketlle. 1970 might be a little hard to acquire.

U da man Fat Tony ! Thank you.
Wow! So we can get the vintage 26 grates from Weber again?
Congrat's on the score BTW! The 80's 26's have some beefy lids. I find them significantly heavier than vintage ones or even the newer 26.75 lids.
OH WOW...that could be a gamechanger for many of us!!
@Fat Tony did you call, or were you able to order online?
That's Awesome!!!! Congrats on the score!!

Thanks! I found parts on Weber. Ordered over the phone.

Nice looking.
I was under the impression you couldn't get the old grates anymore, so it is nice to know they are still available (I have two 26" kettles from the 1970's, a brownie & a black).

For everyone's knowledge, how much are the cooking and charcoal grates from Weber?

For everyone's knowledge, how much are the cooking and charcoal grates from Weber?
$69 cooking grate
$45 charcoal grate
Cooking grate is not hinged. Killa Grilla makes them single hinged for SnS,and double hinged for $100+. At 24.5" as opposed to the 24.75" Weber offers.

Iv had a couple 69/71 kettles as far as i know theres no way to tell them apart. pat pending, small vent tabs all around , metal wheels and metal bowl handles. Large bowl vent tabs i think started in 72/73 im too lazy to go check the age guide right now lol

Hey
@Fat Tony . Was wondering what the height measurement from the ground to the lip of the bowl is? The super awesome
@foshizzle agent-ed me an doppelgänger of your H code 26" a couple days ago, and I will be picking it up the second week of May. I'm working on a swing out side table that I could use on other 18s and 22s, and am curious to know the height of the 26 as it might influence my design plans.

Congrats! I measured 31 1/2"
Looking forward to seeing pics!

Glad to be of help. I just measured yours @solidgoldstein and just what @Fat Tony said it's about 31 1/2" give it take a little so you may not want to do your final cuts until you pick it up.
Congrats to both of you. This H code flat top 26'r is a good looking cooker.

Placed my order with weber for the charcoal grates, thanks for the info Fat Tony. Mines a 69/70 pat pend and the weber CS rep didn't know where to place it so I don't think it's registered still. This is definitely something weber should work on. WKC should set aside a spot for accessories and their P/N for easy access. Either way I'm glad to be a member of this club.
