Title: Kettle "Fried" Grilled Chicken Thighs
Post by: lunchman on January 17, 2019, 07:46:45 AM
Some Kettle "Fried" Grilled Chicken.  These are seasoned with Lefty's Spices Fish and Chicken Mix. I'm using Adrenaline BBQ's method for Buffalo wings out on the 18" kettle, with the SnS. Dry brine of the thighs, but only for an hour or so since I'd just purchased them at my supermarket. And instead of coating with the flour mixture, I'm using Lefty's.

Grilled indirect. 20 minutes, mist with EVOO, flip, mist, 20 minutes, flip, 15-20 more minutes, so nearly an hour on the grill. I've never used Lefty's before, but this seasoning is excellent and the crust turns out as if they were fried.

About 40 minutes into the cook -

Plated with some stuffed mushrooms -

Quite tender and juicy with a crispy exterior, you'd swear these were fried -

I'm amazed at how crispy the skin can get when grilling chicken on the Weber.

Thanks for checking out this post.

Very nice cook all around.  Love the 18" SnS/Craycort combo!

Looks like Lefty's does the trick...
I like House Autry breading on wings around the Vortex...
But I'll be looking for Lefty's...

Couldn't find any Lefty's, but we do have some House Autry.  I'm gonna go halfsies on some wings later this week and see how they turn out.
