Hi friends,
here is my restoration from last week.
I was able to get a really nice N-code in mint condition.
Ok a small rim rash but that's OK for this aged.
Here some impressions:

What a beauty, nice work
My hands ache looking at that ash pan. It looks brand new and those handles. Must not have been exposed to the elements. Kept covered or stored indoors maybe.
Very nice find and restore! Beautiful handles.
Wow nice redhead

Do you polish by hand or use some sort of power buffer?

Depends. I have special discs for my angle grinder and special stuff for my drilling machine.
If there are deeper scratches in the surfaces I grind them in many (1-8 (depends))steps out.
Then I use mostly my grinder with special polish discs with 2-3 polish waxes.
Finish always by hand.
For stuff with no scratches and less oxidation I often use just metal polish, polished by hand.
(E.g. legs)
For enamel I use paint cleaner (same as for cars)
Metal polish : Meguiars NXT metal polish
