Title: Little RR on the blue performer bowl
Post by: greenweb on October 09, 2018, 12:36:27 PM
My gen2 blue performer has been sitting outside all this year waiting for me to have few parts replaced before using.  Finally had chance to clean, remove what was left of the one touch sweeper to a ss unit, remove and replace melted on lid bale rollers, replace couple of broken bolts to ss bolts, and replace ash bucket to black one.

The ash sweeper blades seems to have melted away. One completely gone and 2 have short stubs on them. How could this be? Otherwise, needs a deep clean but looks normal.

Until you check out the other side.

Maybe this bowl was used as a fire pit.

Anyways, here it is after some RR and replacing few parts.  The bowl is from gen3 performer score few years ago and although the gen3 lid is in great condition, I opted to use gen1 MT lid to give that proper Gen2 performer look.

Back in the rotation ready to cook with a brand new metal table from Weber.

I will be cooking on it tomorrow.

Just put this Zebra wood on but may replace it. Not sure if I really like it on this blue.

I have taken some time off work this week to chill and relax so I may get few more projects done this week. Retiring Gen1 and Gen3 performers to make room for others in line.

Great restore.
The crazing, chips and pops might also have something to do with the blue porcelain/enamel.  Of the 8 or 9 blue that i picked up the past year or so, only 2 didn't have any crazings on the bowl.

Grate job. I picked up a second blue SSP a while back as it was a great price and literally around the corner. Our bowls could be brothers. LMAO

Looks great!  I like the zebra wood handle on it.

Did you say you replaced the sweeps with stainless steel?  Would love to replace mine with ss too.  Where did you find them?

You can get the ss sweeps directly from weber #90720. Got all my ss sweeps from 2000-2010 okp and performers.

You go greenweb! That's the project I thought you should do. Love that style thermometer and lid. A good lid can make a kettle.
