Title: Gas manifold repairs
Post by: avega2792 on September 14, 2018, 03:38:07 AM
I recently picked up an old Weber Genesis but the inlet on the manifold was broken off and the previous owner tried fixing it but gave up and wound up giving it to me. I'm trying to fix it on the cheap. Any good ideas would be much appreciated.

Post a few pictures of what you are trying to repair.

The brass fitting on the inlet was broken off and a repair attempt was made but not finished. The previous owner used a step drill to drill it out but gave up. From what I can see the threading is still intact but there is still remnants of the old fitting left in there. I'm wondering if this can be repaired or if it just needs to be replaced?

Is that for a two or three burner?
Do you have a picture of the whole grill?
I may have a manifold I can send you.

I actually live in Elgin so if you have a spare you're willing to part with I could pick it up.

You could use a 1/8" NPT tap to perhaps get rid of the remnants.
