A week and a half ago I saw this post by Troy in the Online Finds forum:
It had been up about 10 minutes and I emailed Marge right away. A week went by with no reply and I figured it was either long gone or someone trying to stir things up. Then out of the blue I receive a reply from Marge, saying she was having computer problems and she does still have it. She described it as a late 60's lime green Weber that has been sitting in the garage under a cover since new. I knew limes hadn't hit the scene in the 60's, so it was going to be either a thumbscrew 'Cado which would be amazing, or she remembered the year incorrectly and it was a lime but from the mid 70's which would also be amazing. I asked for some pics, she said OK but she didn't know how to get them from her camera to me but she would try. A day later I got a link to some uploaded pics. She was excited and amazed she figured it out, and I was too ;)
So I click on the link and there she was...

Lime is one of my favorite kettle colors so I'm loving it. I email her back and say consider it sold! Now how to secure it? I find out where she lives and it happens to be just an hour away from my best man and long time friend who lives in WI. He quickly agrees to help me and within an hour he tells me he will pick it up today (Tues) after work. He said they spoke on the phone for a half hour about it. Turns out it was bought as a gift to her aunt for a wedding present. The aunt grew up in the time when you used something until it was used up, and you squeezed every bit of life out of it. She already owned a Weber kettle which was working just fine, so she put the lime up in the garage for when her current kettle bit the dust. Apparently it never did. So fast forward to now, Marge is helping to clean out the garage, and comes across it. She googles it, finds the article here at the WKC, posts a reply to the article, and now I'm the new owner! I won't be able to take possession until probably the end of October but that's ok. My buddy says it's perfect with just a tiny chip or 2 at the edge of a leg socket that you can barely see. He sent me a few pics today and it looks awesome. And it's even got one of those groovy flowered covers.

My friends who picked her up for me in WI met me in Lynchburg TN this past weekend for a BBQ contest. They packed it up so well. I was able to finally unpack it this afternoon after my 11 hour drive home Sunday. And then I saw it...

I even cook on the glen blue twice a year...
