What's the best way to fix a daisy wheel that has broken the center, rivet.
Screw, washer and nut or pop rivet?

What kind of stainless locknut? The ones I see in the stores use nylon. I assume that would melt.

Instead of locknut, what about lock washer and regular nut? Those can be SS.
You can use a prevailing torque locknut in ss no nylon to melt
I like to add a spring to the stack as well.

I've never seen any prevailing-torque locknuts in my local hardware stores. They might hide them, if they have them at all.

I had to Google it. I will look for them in SS. Thanks.
Many different types of prevailing torque locknuts. Readily available at fasteners specialty stores. I use them for the taco handle and lid bale.
Samples from Lok-Mor below.

I am about to do this on my Jumbo Joe Premium. 1/4 - 20 Stainless steel screw, and 2 nuts, jam nut them together.
Found SS prevailing nuts last week at my ACE Hardware. Have a bunch now in my rehab kit.
Had to look up what a prevailing nut is. and I worked at an Ace Hardware in college! Always heard them called split lock nuts. Hadn't considered that. I am going to try that route instead. Thanks for the idea folks!

Holds tension but not to the point you cannot rotate the wheel.
