Nice!!! If for some reason you want to get that cookbox looking nice and shiny, an angle grinder and a 4inch cup wire brush would make short work of it. personally, I'd say Fark it. But just an FYI.

Thanks. I was curious about how to really clean it. I just gave it a good scrape with a plastic scraper. I almost continued disassembly to do a full on restoration but my impatience won out. Plus I'm keeping an eye out for an older more interesting looking genesis to restore. Preferably something small.
I really like this simple 2 burner design and size. Perfect first gas grill to tinker on.
