To follow with all the wings threads I made a batch last night. No vortex since I don't have one. Just baskets in the middle and KBB. This was only my fourth time making wings (third time since becoming a WKC member) and this time I tried using seasoned flour. Wings were done in 40 minutes. This is my first time using flour and I really enjoyed it! The original recipe I found called for 2 cups of flour but after adding 1 cup I thought it was already too much so I stopped there. I think I might even use less flour next time as the seasoning flavor was kind of light.
1 cup flour
2 tsp salt
1 tsp cayenne
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
Sorry I didn't get any more pictures. They were too good!

I keep seeing you guys with your breaded wings on the grill, and they always end up looking fantastic ! ! !
Why can I not remember to try doing that myself???

Looks great. When I use flour on wings, I season the wings first then add seasoning to the flour, then toss the wings in the seasoned flour.

So, there is no egg wash?

When I do breaded wings I dry them and rub them with olive oil...Then use House Autry Med Hot breading...
I think the oil on the skin helps them "fry"...
Good as fried but with out all the grease...
Looks good. Do these have some heat with the cayanne pepper

There was the ever so slight sense of heat, hardly noticeable.

I've never used egg wash for wings. I have done triple dipped legs (drumsticks) though. Flour, egg, flour. Works well.
