Title: B-day party ideas?
Post by: blksabbath on December 08, 2017, 02:29:24 AM
My daughters 8th birthday party is tomorrow.  She wants "schnucks pizza" which is actually frozen Dogtown pizza.  It's  a St. Louis style cracker crust pizza much like Imos, Cecil Whitaker's, etc.  I could make the same thing with my KettlePizza, but it her birthday and I will just do sides.  So what do I do?  Wings are always good, but I do them all the time.  10 adults and 5 kids.  Maybe ABTs, but some sweet peppers instead of hot.  Some kind of other poppers? Maybe buffalo chicken dip?  What's something simple to go with pizza and beer...and unicorns and cake of course?

I've been making buffalo chicken dip on the weber lately. I grill 2-4 breasts then shred and add all the ingredients to a 12" cast iron skillet then place it back on until the whole thing gets bubbly.

@RumBar Wow!  That dip looks awesome.  That's on the list.  I don't know if I've asked before, but do you know Angie and Johnny Buss?  They live right up there too.

@kettlebb Those look great too. The bacon needs to be extra crispy for her to eat..."I don't like the white, just the meat part."

Pigs in a blanket with various dips? pull apart garlic bread? I went to a party yesterday and they had small strips of steak placed on a chip with a sauce/aoili on top. Super delicious. Grilled mac and cheese balls?

@pbe gummi bear Are the mac n cheese balls really grilled or fried on the grill?  That looks like a winner.

That recipe was for baked balls so I assumed you can do it on the grill.

@hawgheaven I know I know... I should but my wife wants to keep it simple.  So I've got wings, meatless buffalo cheese dip, and some other wacky dips my wife grabbed from one of the gourmet groceries.

Sorry I'm too late to get this in before the party, but if your daughter loves unicorns, check this out:

My wife just ordered one for our 9-year-old niece. When it arrived here though, we must have spent 10 minutes playing with it ourselves! Hope you guys had a great party!
