Title: Anybody using diamond willow for smoke?

Hey all.  I've been following the YouTube vids of a guy that has a cabin about 50 miles north of our place in MN.  He heard that Canadians like to use diamond willow for smoke in their cooks and started using it, since it grows on the roadside in swampy areas up here.  He never gave any feedback on how it works, but he still uses it.  Anybody here have experience with using it in your cooks?
