Title: Pinto Beans
Post by: Estol Riddle on September 24, 2017, 09:18:46 AM
Has anyone cooked dried pinto beans on a 22' kettle ? If so what is your technique , temp ,time , etc.
Normally we don't soak overnight but do use the pre boil method or put them in the pressure cooker . Have always wanted to cook some on the grill but never pulled the trigger .

That one was on an 18, (and with Anasazi beans, which turn out to be just like pinto beans when cooked) but you use the same methods. Get your saute, browning, sweating, and getting to a boil done over the coals. After that the bean cooking part is just an indirect low and slow cook.
