Some people in the Sacramento area have wanted a WKC meet-up/cookout for a while.
@SacramentoWeber and I will gladly coordinate and host.
Anyone within striking distance of Sacramento is more than welcome to join (Bay Area, Central Valley, NorCal, Tahoe/Reno).
@SacramentoWeber did some scouting and it looks like Beals Point at Folsom Lake is our location.
Either he and/or I will be arriving early to set up. We also realize that some may arrive later or leave earlier, which is completely fine. We probably won't start lighting coals until 11:00am or after anyway.
A few things to note:
-There is a parking fee of $12 at the site for day use.
-For those wanting to come up Saturday, or stay Sunday into Monday, there are campsites available nearby. Daily camping is around $24.
We're hoping for a nice relaxing day of grilling, eating, and conversation. Grill trading/sales are cool as well.

... I may be able to sneak out of kitchen at 2 and make a late appearance on Sunday. My Chef resigned and his last day is this Wednesday which threw a wrench in my having the day off. Hope to make it for a short bit by the end of cookout.

I'm getting pumped for the cookout. I can't wait to eat a bunch of great food and chat grills.
It looks like the weather is going to be a perfect 85 with no rain. Since we will be grilling out right on the lake we will probably get a nice breeze.
I'm going to get to the park early and stake out our area with the WKC flag. Once you get into the park, go forward to the beach area. Our site will be on the right hand side of the parking lot.
I'm going to be bringing a bunch of supplies for the group. I will bring a big cooler with a bunch of beverages including beer, soda and water. I will also bring a bunch of paper towels, plates and silverware.
Since October is coming up quick, I'm going to be celebrating Octoberfest at the grill out. I will be cooking up a bunch of brats and kraut in the German/ Wisconsin tradition.
In terms of trades - I have a nice Gen 3 C&B, a red MBH and a cool custom grill grate. Let me know if you want me to bring any of these to the cookout.

Yup - great day. I cooked up a bunch of sausages in beer and kraut. The sausage is called Nürnberger Rostbratwurst. They are like little brats that you eat with your fingers.

Great time today at Folsom. Thanks to WKC members @SacramentoWeber & @Mike in Roseville for putting this meet together. Also in attendance were @Nate , @argentflame & myself, along with several family members and friends.

When we first arrived, a rather aggressive squirrel jumped onto the picnic table and started dragging away a loaf of bread. SacramentoWeber's dog Kitty, kept the squirrels away the rest of the day. Here he is patrolling the area.

A group adjacent to us started a small fire to BBQ some hot dogs. The dogs came out a little charred I believe.
