I've had my eye on a modern 26er for nearly 5 years now and an opportunity came up today while traveling home from dropping off my kids to visit with my dad for a week in Kansas. I stopped off at Harbor Freight in Council Bluffs, IA. on the way home and putted around there for a bit, grabbed a ditch weed (charcoal) burner and a long handled scraper that Troy had recommended to me. Then I drove across Council Bluffs (east) to a place called Bomgaars, a local "Farm & Fleet" type of place and they had a 26"er on display, missing the lid handle/taco shield. Everything else was there, no chips, scrapes or dents. It was the last one they had and I got it for $199. Needless to say I had to find a way to fit it into my Hyundai Sonata. If I can fit six 22 kettles including an SS Performer from Chicago in that same car, then I can certainly fit one 26er assembled in my back seat. I improvised with a fireplace strap handle for the lid. I kind of prefer it over the taco.

Congrats on the 26er Craig!!! I was there about a month ago and didn't see one. And I've never seen one In the past either. Hell of a deal

. The true value in CB has a 18 OTG nib and a fire pit on display also.

that's a SWEET 26er grill
Thanks! I am going to have a time adjusting to the new vent/handle orientation. It made so much more sense to have the handle "turned towards" the lid vent (2014 and earlier) for easier lid removal but I'll adapt.

You could drill a couple new holes and re-position it, then plug the old holes.
