Title: All wood cook
Post by: HoosierKettle on June 26, 2017, 06:03:43 PM
@Smokin Performer gave me the idea and tonight I finally tried it. I fired up ash firewood in the fire pit and took some coals out and put them in the ots. I cooked some pork chops with salt and pepper only. I wasn't quite getting the color I wanted so I tossed them straight on the fire. The family had no idea and loved them. Ash wood is kind of the scantily clad tattooed woman at the bar. Very pronounced smoke flavor and different from the usual. I liked it.

That looks as good as it sounds. I'd like to try that as well.

Thanks. It's something fun and different to try. Last night was a cool night and I had a fire going outside already so this was more spontaneous use of the firewood then planned out. Next time I will cut my firewood in half and use more in the grill.
