I take two lengths of heavy duty aluminum foil and
Cris crops them on the bottom of my WSM then I put the charcoal grate and ribg in. Of Course
I make sure the vents are clear. After the cook all I have to do is take out the foil
With the ash inside and throw it out. Presto a clean WSM. Try it , you will like it!

I do the same thing in the water pan when I use it.
