Somehow they seem appropriate given our weather. We've been here since '87 and this is the highest I've ever seen the creek that is a couple houses down.

Several days ago I needed to defrost our freezer. I found a couple of ducks and stuck them in the refrigerator to thaw. I marinated them using Raichlen's recipe (http://www.primalgrill.org/recipe_details.asp?RecipeID=217&EpisodeID=26) and put them on my '74 18.5 kettle. I chose the kettle (my first) since it has been too long since I fired it up and I like the fine grained control I get from the daisy wheel dampers. I used one charcoal basket with Royal Oak briquettes and some apple and cherry for smoking wood (along with the tea smoking mix.) I had some asparagus so I rafted it up to grill while the duck finished.

Nice looki'n duckies! I thought you meant in the pond in front of your house. I was looking for them. :D
Looks good Hank...I'm sure you could've plucked a view fresh ones nearby to add to the smoker
The ones in the neighborhood seem to know to stay just out of my reach. ;)
These came out really tasty. I like that recipe.
There are a couple of ducks in the neighborhood that like to swim in the pool but book it out of dodge by the time I swim over to them :)
