She saw it at a yard sale and thought it was pretty :)
She asked an older woman working the sale how much she wanted, the older woman turned to her daughter and asked how much she wanted. The owner replied "Is $4 too much?"
Some days it just worth getting out of bed. heh

Until I started quoting her info on it's age (info from this site) she had no idea of it's value or age,  only that it was oldish.
And yes, I always plug WKC when I do this for the group members. Usually something like "All info shamelessly stolen from Weberkettleclub.com, the single best Weber kettle resource on the net"

Interesting what a thread like that brings out. Another commented "Got a grey one just like it the folks bought for my grandparents back in the day..." Not quite the same. Patent number on the damper, no letter code. Still a nice find though.
