Title: Genesis Jr.....pics added
Post by: Scott Zee on March 25, 2017, 03:52:39 PM
So after seeing Martys' great RRR of his red Genesis  Jr. I've been looking for a Jr. in decent shape to add to my arsenal. Yesterday on Chicago CL one is advertised. There was only a pic of an open gasser and really hard to tell which one it was. Seller and I exchanged texts last night and I was able to see a bit more. It's black (I'm ok with it) and in ++ shape. It's an Genesis Jr. 1100??? wood slats top and bottom plus a flip up side table (right side). All original wood including the handle and its all in excellent shape. It is missing the thermometer so I'll have to source one of those. It also came with original cover, CI grates and 2 extra SS grates and roti which is missing the motor but the spit and forks look unused. Burner tubes are EXCELLANT and flavorizer bars are nice too. Cook box is in nice shape with no signs of rust anywhere on the grill or frame. Serial number starts with ESL and I'm wondering if anyone knows when this was made.

I have a Genesis 1 gasser I found this stamp on the bottom of the cookbox casting.

The lower frame I swapped with a silver B. The single tube had rotted through the crossmembers on both sides. It's a good cooker. Came with a rotisserie and it was all free.

On the insides of the lid casting they are stamped made in the USA and sometimes a similar date stamp. One lid I have has it one doesn't.

Hey @Scott Zee - I have a spare therm you can have. Love the Jr. and black is best! PM me your address and the therm is yours. One more Jr. in the WKC is a good thing!

Thanks guys. I couldn't check the Jr.s functionality yesterday because no propane was avail. Unloaded it this morning and connected my tank, 1st push of the igniter and this little baby fired right up and got super hot.     :)

I LOVE the design of this cook box. The bottom of the box slides completely out for easy cleaning which is a great feature. I didn't realize it was a 2 piece lower box. I don't think the drip pan ever got dirty. When I picked it up yesterday the pan had aluminum foil wrapped around it. I also love the fact that all the wood sections lift right off and can go in the garage, out of the weather, until you're ready to use the grill...another great design

That looks awesome! I have one in my garage ready to restore as well. I think the missing 2 decals after I redo the frame are going to bug me (igniter and the propane level) We need a decal guy on the WKC.

Really nice work.
