never really noticed how awesome these things were.
it came with the hinged cooking grate, the charcoal baskets, and he threw in a chimney. probably gonna cut the chimney in half and use it as a poortex. not to mention a cover! although.... I'm pretty sure by how the cover looks that it was left outside with the cover underneath.

it's missing the igniter but that's not a big deal may not use the propane system ( will get to why in a few)

I picked up a 'Cado from my grandma's the other day she turned it into a flower pot after a leg socket rusted off
(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170311/0ba51a4c97af64eb0eed9e9d437c8ba0.jpg)
un dug it and it turned out to be in really good shape for where it's been for 2+ years.

that was the RRR, now for the Mod
plan is to take the black kettle off of the performer and attach the 'Cado to it using as many of the parts from the performer to modify the multi purposed avocado to fit the cart. this is why I'm not sure if I'm going to reuse the propane lighter system, maybe, I donno yet. other ideas rolling around but can't divulge all the idea just yet will just have to wait and see

I'd be up to take that propane regulator off you hands. 8) Although you could always add the gas assist to the cado per: http://weberkettleclub.com/blog/2014/04/25/weber-grill-mod-adding-gas-assist/
@pbegummibear what if I took it up a notch and added the tube from a go anywhere and made it a real gas or charcoal grill....

boom. like I said I got alot of ideas

Nice! You got yourself a pretty sweet deal! Can't wait to see the results...
Dude, I'd totally add the gas assist like in the link Gummi posted.
You're already gonna have to drill into the kettle to add the brackets to put into the frame, and you'll find the gas assist to be really awesome.
Also, throw on the metal table upgrade and you'll have a real awesome super custom grill!
Can't wait to see what happens here

I don't know. I would have to have a one touch system on a performer If I planned on using it regularly. Would be tempting to just put the cado lid on the black bowl, fix the gas assist and call it a day with a full function performer.

This, with a metal table upgrade would be nice. One thought- I really like the gas assist but if it was going to cost me over $50 to put it in I'd just use Weber lighting paraffin cubes. Especially when you can sometimes load up with them on sale.

I agree with captjoe here. Gas assist is nice but we can all do without it.

Anything coming from Brentwood or Tracy usually has Black Widow hitchhikers. Great save on the Cado. Couple of U bolts on the handles will hold it down.
@cellar2ful yea we get all the fun bugs, black widows, Wolf spiders the size of soda can tops, roaches every house iv lived in has had them outside hate the damn things . I wanna have it be as close to the original set up just with a twist. Resto-mod hotrod style. shit it is a rest mod lol.
little progress iv made today

got the leg sockets and brackets off of the donor kettle. I'm probably going to clean up the old bottom end after I'm done with it, build it a wood frame and give it to my grandma as a thank you / replacement flower pot
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Weber Kettle Club mobile app (http://r.tapatalk.com/byo?rid=91018)
got one of the brackets on, had to put my youngest to sleep so I didn't get a chance to drill the other side. I made it about an inch under the handle. I thought the black bracket would stand out more against the green but since the frame is black it blends in nice.

looking good!
Very cool! What did you use to start the holes when you drilled?

lol lots of pressure. I didn't have a center punch or anything at the house. no wonder these things last forever that finish is tough!! the Cado bowl was way harder to drill through then the 2006 bowl was

Don't center punch a drilled hole in the kettle. It could deform the steel or blow out more porcelain. A small, sharp bit works best for a pilot.
I went out and bought a 5 dollar titanium bit just for drilling everything and I think I may have dulled it!! ha ha
