Title: New Pit/meat thermometer
Post by: Kneab on January 31, 2017, 03:56:10 AM
I am looking to buy  a new thermometer.  I've read a lot of reviews about both of these  but I'd like to hear people's opinions from here.
Maverick ET733 vs. Thermoworks Smoke.
What are everyone's opinions about these 2?

my 2 cents, I love my 733, i have 1 that IS a maverick and 2 others that are identical to the maverick that say Ivation. When the smoke comes out with the wifi bridge, I'll probably look harder at it..the smoke does look bitchen.

The probes seem really heavy duty on the Smoke. I have an old single probe Maverick ET-72 that I've had for years that the probe isn't as heavy duty but it still works. I like the magnetic attachment option on the Smoke also.

I have 2 ET-733's, they are challenging to program but function quite well.  I'd buy the ET-732 if I was doing it again, or step up to the Smoke if I had $100 bucks.

I have the Maverick 733, works great and came with a set of Bear Paws to shred pulled pork from Amazon. The Smoke wasn't out yet when I bought it.

Have both and will now only use the smoke.  Very easy to program and the probes are the best.

I watched the Baby Back Maniac's review of the both yesterday. Hands down the Smoke wins. Very quick on the response and programming looks easy.

Same here, but I already have a 733 and two 732s.
