Years ago I would not have looked at this twice when it appeared on Gumtree (Aussie Craigslist), but thanks to the info learned from WKC, I jumped on this.
@Hogsy informs me that these were quite expensive when released in Oz, and therefore very rare, to date I had never seen one before.
This is from the day I picked it up

It's been very well used, and I'm in the process of cleaning it up. Let's just say that it could be any color on the inside as there is a very thick layer of crud.
Some parts might need replacing

a great score ! these redheads sure look good on 1st gen performers. I sometimes consider putting my redhead in my performer , but she's too pretty on her own. maybe one day. congrats!
Beautiful!
Beautiful grill, and great score, especially in your neck of the world!
I've taken it apart for cleaning, but how does the charcoal bin lid come off the framework?
The bin lid is held in place by the metal bar. The bar will flex enough to pull it up from the edge of the table. Then you just have to finagle it loose from the frame at one end - flexing and pushing it toward the other end. I've done it several times and still don't find it easy - it usually takes me a minute. Watch to not lose the plastic inserts when the bar comes out.
while taking of the Ash sweep the thumb screw broke off. I took my dremel tool and cut off the remaining bolt and just smacked it with a hammer (gently) and it popped off. I used almost 2 cans of Easy Off to remove the remnants as well as the carbon build up (Nasty sauce and congealed fats) in the bowl. Put the new ash sweep with a new ash catcher and it went well from there. ALOT of elbow grease but well worth the effort.
Good Luck with you restoration!
Jeff.
It didn't come with the gas cylinder, so I bought a new one and painted it. Also, the whitewalls as they were looking a bit shabby.

nice restore , really like the side table awesome !
Great score, and a beauty restore!!!
That's a beauty!
Awesome!! Digging that side table. Folder dow it looke likw the cover would still fit. How much weight can the new table support?
Looks fantastic. What type of wood did you use?
Sent from my iPhone using Weber Kettle Club mobile app (https://siteowners.tapatalk.com/byo/displayAndDownloadByoApp?rid=91018)
Thanks for the kind words.
The wood is unknown, recycled from an old hottub/spa/jacuzzi. The pictures don't do it justice, really close to the Brazillian Rosewood handles from Zavod.
She's very sturdy. Easily hold a full packer brisket...
Wow! Incredible restore and mod!
I think I remember something about removing the badge, painting the whole thing, and then carefully sanding the paint off the letters and edges.
I think the trick was laying the sand paper down on some flat surface and rubbing the badge over the paper
Pretty sure it was one of Matt's trick, should be pretty easy to search

Dam Bear! That looks awesome, love the clean up and especially the table. Nice work on the gas bottle too, I could never find one that would sit plumb once installed.
Did you have to mod the gas bottle?
Zav's look great too, need to get me a timber vent tab
Apart from painting and an elbow fitting, no.
However, it flakes paint everywhere already. I will be changing to a different bottle as part of mods stage 2.
That side table is just awesome. I love EVERYTHING about it. Trying to figure out how it's secured as it didn't look like it bolted all the way through.
Nice job, I really like that table extension.
That's absolutely beautiful! I love that table.
