Saw this recipe in my Lodge DO book. First problem I don't have a lid for Great Great Grandma's Wagnor so technically I Weber baked it. I can't believe it popped right out with no mess. Beginners Luck. Thanks for looking.

One of my favorite cakes ever. Not easy to pop out in one piece. Great job!
Looks like it turned out perfect!

Did it have any smokey flavor?
Looks like it came out from an advertisement! I hope it tasted as good as it looks.

Only if you incorporate wood to the mix ,clean burning ashed over coals won't impart any flavor , a kettle is a great way to make baked goods , gives bread that artisan texture .
I do knead to make some dutch oven bread soon...perhaps I can try the kettle instead of the oven.
that looks really good, nice job
Looks great!
This makes me want cake now. :)
