Title: What's on the Mothers Day Menus ?
Post by: Idahawk on May 06, 2016, 09:28:04 AM
I was just wondering who's cooking for the special mothers in their lives and what you were making. I'm hoping the wife asks me to grill something,  but no plans as of yet.

Looking like a nice Sunday here in the UK so I'll be slinging some ribs on the performer as a matter of priority.

Mothers' Day is in March across the pond

Boneless prime rib. Baked potatoes and corn on the cob. It's going to be a nice day. High in the 70s on Mother's Day here in Omaha.

I usually tell the wife that I'm giving her what made her a mother in the first place. Damn right!

Then she tells me what to cook, and what to wear, and what time to have all that be ready. And that the other thing ain't happening.

That's funny right there. I don't care who you are!

I'm pretty sure I got the idea from one of your posts, so thanks. It one the cooks my son likes to help with because he doesn't have to worry about the flames or flare ups.

@RumBar GREAT looking grub. I to LOVE burgers on the flattop, IMO it takes them over the top.

I've never done burgers on the grill in black iron before. Sounds like I'm going to have to jump on board and try it out! I've said it before, but I love your grill shack. Very cool!

Grilled salmon with squash and zucchini planks.
For appetizers some grilled Oysters.

As Flounder said in Animal House,  "Oh Boy! This is going to be great!"

Went to mom's house. Brother brought his 26'er. We cooked chicken legs, pork chops, baked potatoes and some grilled veggies.

I hope to do a large beef blob like that some day. We're mostly a steak outfit here. No pics, but boneless New York strips were on sale, and they also had some very thin cut boneless New York strip for just a few cents more.

Did the thick cut with Weber Steak 'n Chop and used their Mesquite for the thin cuts. Yummy, with baked potatoes and crinkle cut carrots.

The grilled romaine (with evoo and Montreal steak seasoning) was amazing, my son who prides himself on not eating salad was munching away on it and asked to have his own next time we grill it.
