It's the one you would never part with. Maybe you use it, maybe you don't, but it's going to the grave with you!
Here's mine, it should just fit in there with me. 8)

For as much as I love all of my kettles, here's my most prized. My Grandfather's 1960s red 18.5. It's the first Weber kettle I ever saw, first one I ever cooked on (still do), and it's an heirloom. It won't be buried with me, but it will stay in the family. It's a Hill Grill!

Assuming that it must be a Weber.

Otherwise, the Smokemaster offset behind the WSM mini is my #1 pit.
Built by the Smokemaster company in Austin, TX. The company is no longer in business.
That Smokemaster looks big enough tha you could be buried in it. Not much room left for the old Smokey Joe.......so you can leave it to me.
Nice pictures
Do I have to pick just one?
I at this time love all of them and cant see getting rid of any.
But I do enjoy my stop light ;D

I don't think I could possibly pick a grill and answer this question!
Hey Javahog....I saw a posting from someone in Colorado wanting to buy your speckled Smokey back. They were offering 70 or 75 for it. FYI.
It's a tough question to answer. There are two ways to value a grill. First would be the one most valuable to cook on. The other would be value in terms of being a collectible. There is probably some overlap between the two but it is unlikely to be very high. The cooker vs. looker classification.
Then among the cookers, there can be further criteria. Is the most versatile one the most valuable? Perhaps the cooker that does one thing very well warrants the most prized selection.
On the first account, my selection goes to cookers. In theory all of mine are cookers though there are some I have not used in years. Among the most versatile cookers, I would have to put my 26 at the top of the list. It's large enough to do a turkey or full leg of lamb or a couple racks of beef ribs. Though I haven't smoked on mine, other members here have demonstrated that capability. When it comes to doing one thing extremely well, my choice is my 18.5 WSM.
With that thought in mind, I'll deviate from the rules and post two pictures. First is my 26. If I had to reduce the count to a single grill, this would be the one.

Were I to select the Weber that produces hands down my favorite food - BBQ - I'd go with my 18.5 WSM (pictured here with it's siblings. ;D )

Great pictures everyone!
Smooth, yes everything I have including the red sj has a price. It would make most people choke though. Awesome red by the way!
Sweet heirloom Craig!
I love that stoplight Bob!
Java, I think I would have to take the Smokemaster myself, but you were right, since this is a weber site I am assuming they probably would be.
Hank, posting two is understandable.
Mark, I bet those are extremely rare in Canada.
Red is my favorite but these picture are making me green with envy. I might have to be on the look out for a green in time for St Patricks day. Thanks for the pictures.
Which is yours Rielly? ???
I'll have to get back to you next week. I have a trip planned and I might pick up a new favorite on the way.

give us a hint on what it is
that would really get people here thinking or annoy them not knowing what it is
I'm very suspicious about that. I would hate to say I had something and it turns out I don't get it. I have been disappointed before. Plus I always like the next grill the best anyway.
An incurable case of Weberitis.

Here's the other one !!
There's a couple of posts floating around like this, currently.......
There's only a very few people on the planet that would even say that, or understand it, or take
it seriously, or have the correct appreciation for what it meant !!!!!

Here's my, for now, most prized Weber. A 2000 OTG Homer Simpson. I got off of CL last year and it was in excellent shape, with the exception of a dime sized chip on the lid. After a thorough cleaning it is immaculate. Homer cooks up some really good food and always starts a conversation.

I know, it's not a grill, but it is my favorite cooker.
It got cooked on for a long time after I got it, but the porcelain started to bubble in the charcoal bowl so it is now retired.
It's the one on the left with the black door, the only documented "B" WSM in the world.

What's the story with the lid holder over WSM?

What's the story with the lid holder over WSM?
That's my little invention. With the two WSMs side-by-side like that, I can hang a lid and the hook swivels so the hanging lid is over the other pit giving me room to work on the open pit. I used an old garage door opener track, a piece of gas pipe and an electric fence post to make it.
Dang Harbormaster, you must be close to 7' tall??

Nah, that table is a little over a foot tall. I can reach the hook pretty easily.
And I'm only 5'8".

That's pretty neat! I know lots of guys say "grill" but I think they really mean "Weber." I split my favorite between a kettle and my smokers.
Having the oldest known WSM is also something worthy of note as well!
Prized doesn't necessarily mean best cooker does it? It's not my best cooker or even the prettiest grill I have ( that'd be my Red headed fireball) but it is my oldest I believe. The folks running Portable Kitchen now told me they had never seen another with a logo like mine. It doesn't show up in the picture but it has Hilton Meigs , the founder of the company, name and Tyler Texas cast above the logo. They moved from Tyler in 1958 and I've seen another Tyler made grill that has the modern logo on it. Best guess on it is 1952-1953 which is what makes it my most prized grill

& I like the P. Kitchen up above also, just for the "different" factor !!!
& Harbor Master's got the WSM thing all sewed up with a one-of-a-kind & a bunch more !!!!
& we got the Bluesman to show us his BIG Homer !!!!
I really need one of these. Hell, I'd pay 40 bucks! ;D
Nice grills! I definitly don't want to see the best conditioned ones rather the most prized. It might be your rarest or most unusual. It might be one that you would never find in your area because they weren't popular there. It might be one you moved heaven and earth for because you had to have it. Maybe price was no object for it. It may be beat up, but it was grandpas battle scarred weber and it was passed down to you. Maybe you even risked jail to save it. ;)
Speaking of Jail, how is the Lime project?
I have more than a few grills, but I always seem to go back to my copper colored OTG.
I am thinning the herd though. I know its sacrilegious to say such things around here, but I may work my way down to just having a single Weber.
Don't hate me.
No hating here. There's nothing wrong with scaling back. That copper gold is a nice keeper. :)

No hate - I am officially out of control. I could stand to thin the herd as well. It's just so hard!
Scale down to 1 grill?
Hank...out of control? That's funny! That just means you can entertain a larger party by you! Especially with that big back yard!
Yeah, maybe I should scale back to under 20...talking about out of control!

Just picked up this '73 Red. It is in mint condition. The owners used it for about three years as newlyweds. Then it sat in storage for the rest of the time. They are downsizing. It is with my black '89 and avocado '69.

NICE PICS! Is kettle pr0n an inappropriate description? All of these cookers and lookers are beautyous. That '73 red......WOW! That's a nice score! I'm guessing thats gonna be a looker?
I own the "73 red. What do you guys think? Looker or cooker?
I say make it an annual cooker = once a year to keep its' spirit alive. Ideally a couple baskets of charcoal in the center of the bowl to sear a couple rib-eyes. Use it on your anniversary to mark the day, (keeping the newlywed thing you mentioned going here) and take pictures! Hmmm, might have to do that myself with my own little redhead.
Thanks Marty. Your red looks mighty fine too. What year is it?
1997

I'm in the cooker camp. It's what they're made for. Plus when you cook on a redhead, it's magic! BTW, nice looking black 22 and avocado. Marty, that '97 red 18 is nice!
Bumping this awesome thread
Thanks for the bump Gummi.
I know I posted the "B" WSM already, but these two are pretty special too because my kids gave them to me.
First is a pristine Pat Pending 18.5" I got for Fathers day 2012:

Nice grills. Quick question, I had an old faded 18.5 wsm a while back and the lid felt way lighter on it than it does on the newer ones. Can you conform this or was it just me? :-\

I think the older domes are equally heavy, if not heavier, than the newer ones. Of course, I've never put them on a scale.

I clicked send too soon. The above grill was a recent thrift shop find for $10, about a week ago. My 8 year old and I were on a harley ride and I bought it on a layaway plan, and picked it up later. I explained to her that just getting it home, researching it a bit, and sharing with you fine folks is worth $10 of entertainment, much less preserving a relic.
Note the daisy wheel mounted inside the grill. :P Fixing that was my first mod ;D
How did they ever think the paint would stay on this bad boy? Would high temp powdercoating hold up to charcoal heat?
Curious
That is classic Beef. I'm sure we have all have pissed away $10 on something more worthless than that. Nice score!
my most prized is Buddy. just a lil 18.5 Budlight OTS that I modded

I still love that shot, CS!! The way the light hits it at night in that photo is the kind of cool like that scene from Dirty Harry when they flip on the lights in that football stadium to expose the Scorpio killer and there's Harry aiming his 44 magnum and the barrel is gleaming from the lights. Its that kind of cool! It's almost as if this redhead is trying to stop some rusty no name firebox pretender cooker from ruining another meal. ;)
I just picked this up, a couple weeks ago on vacation. It's a P 1993, all I did so far, is wash it down with some soap and water. I need to oil the handles.

That Redhead is just about perfect !!!!
In the slightly newer 20~25 year old range these perfect & near-perfect ones can still be found......this one is just grand !!!!
Thanks Buckie, it is near perfect, I was shocked to see how good it looked when I went to buy it.
Ugh. This one makes the one I recently picked up look like crap.
