Title: 14.5" WSM Owners: How Long Will the Charcoal Last?
Post by: jcnaz on April 19, 2016, 12:50:44 PM
I am going to bbq a 9lb pork butt, and would like to put it on the 14.5. I usually put two butts on my 18.5 and let it run overnight, but I don't know how long this little guy will run on a load of fuel.

My question to all of you is; what is the longest cook you have been able to perform on a WSM 14.5" without having to add fuel?

Thanks, JC

11 hours on an original 1880, charcoal stacked as high as possible, no water.

About 10 hours, using lump, and minion method...topped up to the max. Foiled water pan, with no water. I've never needed to go much longer.
