Title: Rescued a Crooked K red 18"
Post by: jamesnomore on April 10, 2016, 03:33:20 PM
Poor thing took some hard time with little to no care, put together wrong and front leg in upside down
. Price was right though, only 5 bucks :) as you can see some hard knocks but structurally sound and will make a nice cooker with a little RRR.

Pics:
Always thought the crooked k was cool

The one leg socket is fairly rusted but doesn't wiggle.

Oh man!  That looks like it's going to be one fun project!  Nice goin', I can't wait to see the outcome.  A little green with the tiniest amount of envy atm. :D

By the look of those webs and egg sacks, I would say you had some widows taking up residence in there.  Ugh, those wicked creatures creep me out.  I like to introduce them to my propane torch.

Ha! I've been around Widows my whole life. I just reach in there with my fingers and toss the old eggs aside, those eggs are harmless and momma doesn't hang around for the hatching, she moves on to the next meal...most of the time.

I'm really excited to have a red 18" and hope I can find some time to really clean her up nice.

Yuck!  :P Grisly things....

You should be excited, you got a cool one.  I imagine it's some kind of rare to find an '88 with a crooked 'K'?

This is my 2nd crooked K and have seen a few on this site which are all crooked. I believe it's more of a rarity to get a straight K vs crooked K. Others will know much more than me...
