Title: tank weight
Post by: EricD on April 05, 2016, 05:27:37 PM
I read somewhere that with the trend of tank exchange (vs filling) that you should weigh the tank you are getting.  The reasoning being that at the mass filling stations a lot of tanks could end up under filled, whether intentional or not.
Problem is I cant remember what a full tank is supposed to weigh.
Anyone know?   I know I can google, but I was here first.  8)

Yep yep.  On the collar of the tank you'll see  some numbers that have been stamped in and also the letters T.W.   That's the tare weight (empty weight) of that tank.  A truly full tank will be 20lbs more.
