Well it has been a long time coming to bring to the forefront. This was obtained by a local. He brought it to my attention first, when he spotted the CL ad.
He had never seen one and wanted to verify it was the real deal. Confirmed, "I said go for it NOW!" Locally, we all step down on a another's find, not to drive up the price. There are a few locals, not our group, that will start a bidding war. This was back in Oct/Nov. He secured the grill through a friend, to agent. The Ranger was
located in Fargo, but I know many already know, as the selling party was inundated with offers. But this CL seller was not a flake and held to "Original" asking price,
first come first served.
After him having it for a couple months, he decided he is into the hunt and find, but not keeping them for a collection. He asked if I was interested in it. Heck yes!
He knows and I actually told him to go to eBay, as he could have financial gains that avenue. He didn't want to go that route, so he through out a figure, after some
thought. Some conversing and an agreement was made.
The story of the grill. It is was a one owner grill. Sellers purchased it in the Carolinas. They relocated to Fargo some years back.
They decided to sell this grill, even with their attachment, because the were worried that parts were no longer available. Well they
are correct! Considering it is 50 years old and is actually of poor design, it has come back to life.
Few things of note. Yes, it has some flaws. The two front mounts had about one inch holes. Now filled with 1-1/2 SS washers.
The bicycle grips, NLA. They are 1", standard is 7/8. Not sure were Weber sourced them. I did order some off eBay that I thought
would fit the ticket. Color quality of picture was inaccurate. It was also missing the ash pan. Thanks to a member(you know who you are) was
able to give me some dimensions. BIL has a break press, boom my little drawing and it was made in 15 minutes. What took the most time, was finding
breaks in the upper Midwest weather. We had a few days where able to get on this.
Now some pics!

Thanks for looking!
Nice looking Ranger! Looks wonderful!
Really cool. I've yet to see one in person.
Very nice save!!! Looks awesome.
@glrasmussen Great grill!!!!!
Are the bolts, washers, and nuts stainless? Also I think the acorn nuts look really good. I rebuild all of mine with them...

Its just a thought ;)
Beautiful grill and restore. Well done!
Looks great Greg! You did an excellent job. Well done sir.
@Shoestringshop Everthing is SS now. I could have used acorn nuts, just wanted to stay period correct for this piece.
It is !00% better than the original hardware.
@glrasmussen Hell yes SS is the way to go!
Looks sweet! Nice work on the restore.
Very nice, Greg! Congrats.
Love that color. Kinda wish all non-table kettles could be moved like wheel barrows.
Greg, awesome score! Good to see it being done the right way, keep it up!
Amazing! Great restoration. It's awesome to know there are still great deals to be discovered.
Wow. A Seville and a ranger in one week. Heck of a week for the WKC.

What a wonderful thing. Glorious really.
@glrasmussen how much time would you say you have in this restore? Very cool. Ive never seen one. Will you cook on it?
That looks really great, great job on the restore!
Great job on the clean up Greg, and a great history story to boot! Well done...
@Travis Yes, I only believe in cookers. Hours, way less the than you think, not my first Rodeo. Not including dry times, maybe four hours. Again, not my first Rodeo.

Nice work, Greg! Love it
Weber had a novel and creative idea in the intro of the "Ranger". You've brought that design idea back to life with your incredible restoration. Thank you. SJ
Your hard work turned out an excellent result! Good job!

I would take that thing for a walk daily, serving the neighbors food along the way.
I expect to see plenty of pics of this beauty in the coming months / years .... Outstanding restore, Greg !! :D ;) ;)

That is a given! Can hardly wait to stroll it over the neighbors pool :) It will be nice, just to wheel my beer and goodies over.
Awesome job on the restore!
Yeah I'd be wheelin' around cooking just because I could.
I could just imagine starting some ribs, and then wheeling them over to neighbors a few hours later, too cool!
Great job on the restore, Greg! It's been a pleasure watching this gem come back to life. Congratulations on landing her!
