Title: Vintage 1988 find
Post by: Dogkarma on January 24, 2016, 02:16:45 AM
Hey guys just curious,I got off gumtree (Craig's list in Australia)an old 1988 Kettle thats about to get some serious TLC it's in really good condition for its age and I'm very happy the grill hasn't been used much in its life from the looks of it.
My question is I got all the original paper work with it also, brochure, cook book, instruction manual etc all in top condition, how rare do you think it would be?
I kind of feel like it was a very lucky find, and no way would I think of selling it.
Cheers

Post a few pics. You'll get a lot of opinions on it's rarity (value). I'd imagine it's more of rarity in Australia, than in the US.

Rare in OZ is late 70's,early 80's. Still a very cool find with all the brochures and manuals. Did you buy it off the original owner? What colour is it? What size is it?
And yes we need pics!

Any old grill with paperwork is cool.....not sure you'll be putting a downpayment on a Porsche after selling it on eBay but it's still cool.....

There is NO SUCH THING as "only a black 22inch One-Touch-Silver"  ...  she's a magnificent kettle, congrats on your find.   I have an 'F' code that looks just like her.  Mine started out life with a twist on ash pan, but now has the current Weber replacement ash catcher.  Mine is a go-to-rib cooker, use a fuse, and sit back and enjoy :)                           SJ

The cook book it came with is cool I've never seen it before. It must be the precursor to coloured version that's still available.

That's actually a very cool find in my opinion. I have an '83 that i I love dearly. The paperwork makes yours even more awesome. I say congratulations sir!
