Title: Recommendations for a REALLY tight leg socket
Post by: LightningBoldtz on October 11, 2015, 03:12:55 PM
I just purchased a 26er, very excited to get it put together.  I have on leg socket so blasted tight I cannot get the leg in.

Any tricks to doing this?

New or used? If new, I'd contact weber.

If used Some cooking oil or dish soap will slide it in. If the socket is crushed down. Yeah u might need to use a beoomstick and work it in a circle to widen out socket.

it's NIB, yeah I did call Weber, they are going to send me a new bowl.  Very disappointing not being able to put it all together.

I know when putting my 26 together one was hard to insert, when i looked at it the leg lock insert was cockeyed, got it straightend out and it went together, not sure if this is the case but something to check out.
