Title: Uline Smokey Joe New Color
Post by: Josh G on October 08, 2015, 08:06:07 AM
It appears that Uline has added a third color to the Smokey Joes.    And the color is...   Copper

Picture still shows the lime and black only but the color chart shows copper.

I wonder if the new SJs, including this one, have, or will have the "new style" / Euro style handle?

I figured someone on here would have one already!  Can't wait to see it.

If you click on the specify color they have an image of it and it has the standard handle

To be honest the old style handle was a deciding factor in me ordering one! I love the copper kettles and actually miss my old handle Copper 22 OTG... quite possibly the only kettle I regret selling!

This is a pre-emptive strike in hopes I can find another real clean one on CL and complete the set. :D

Anyone looking for the SJ should check out eBay - the seller I got it from has at least 1 more and for a decent amount less than from uLine.

You gotta hope not.

@Josh G , thanks for that.  Good to know.

The only reason I brought it up was because of when the Crimson SJG was available here in Canada, the ad pictures were not correct.
Turned out that the actual unit did not have the Euro handles even though the pictures showed that it did.

Pictures in ads can lie, so I guess we wait and see.

@MikeRocksTheRed - Really wish I had a copper Performer or OT here that I could compare to but I unfortunately don't at the moment... If I can get my hands on one here I'll post up some new comparison shots with all three. There is a chance the new one is slightly darker.

The photos were also taken under a fairly dark overcast sky, or in my garage under less than optimal lighting, so that should be taken into consideration until we can confirm 100%

They do look darker than the old smokey joes, be curious to see it next to the current copper grills.

Sadly it's just a SJS, not a SJG.

Now that I have a Copper SJS (uline) one of my grails has become a Samuel Adams Copper SJG.  Seems to me that one can make a SJG from an SJS (with an extra bottom vent)  8)
